The second of a trio of releases culled from a small tray of cassettes discovered at the back of a dusty cupboard .

Has there ever been a more personal Dots related release than this one?  Picture the scene. It’s 1983 or 1984 and Phil is alone in his tiny music room in the flat he rents in Station Road, Walthamstow.  There is so much exotic percussion, it’s hard to move.  By one wall is a harmonium dating back to Victorian times, by another wall there’s an old piano, strings exposed and Phil coaxing sounds from the instrument’s interior.  The space echo flashes red…It’s a magical journey from a crowded space creating a picture that glows in the moonlight.  Bookending the piece is what will eventually become “Tower 5”.  If ever a cassette needed rescuing, it’s this one.  The piece has been cleaned and edited, no extra sound or treatment has been added.

Also with more than a hint of what would eventually turn up a different form with The Dots are the 2 other pieces on this release. They were both “finished” more recently but compliment the mysterious “Echo Room” delightfully.  Three flowers from the Silverman.
