If ever a Time Machine is invented, there should be a built-in warning system, instructing the pilot to avoid the year 2020. It’s hard to think of a year as tragic as this one, for the sad personal news about Marylou last week and for a World situation that’s as bleak as anything I’ve encountered in all my years.
As far as The Pink Dots are concerned, our 40th Anniversary Tour is inevitably paused, but we’re postponing the shows planned, rather than simply cancelling.
On the brighter side, much recording is happening. The delayed vinyl audiobook from me “On The Rebound” will be available from our end as of next week and we’ll have 18 copies for sale. Friends in America should bear in mind that we STILL cannot send packages there yet as there is a ban in place from Germany (where Phil sends from). Even so, this will surely be lifted soon.
“Letter Post” IS possible to the U.S. happily and it means ,”40 Angels-The Archive” is now being shipped…10 already in the mail, 18 more set to fly next week….Many apologies for this long delay.
Just completed is a collaboration between the Pink Dots and comic creator extraordinaire Matt Howarth, entitled “Portals In The Storm”.
Writing for the new LPDs album in an advanced stage too, so be prepared for the odd teaser.
Finally, as the recent Dots’ Anthology on the Bandcamp site was so warmly welcomed, expect similar releases for other decades plus a solo collection (that one’s due on Friday). Stay well, spread the love cos that’s what The World needs now more than anything (hmm, sounds like there’s a song in there….)
