Richter Scale is a project with actual and ex-members of Legendary Pink Dots and Un Festín Sagital.

‘A Ripple On The Richter Scale’ was a project born in a famous bar in Santiago, Chile back in 2008.  Michel of ‘Un Festin Sagital ‘ and ‘Thanatoloop’ had invited Edward Ka-Spel and The Silverman of The Legendary Pink Dots for their first ever shows south of the equator and the logical next step was to engage in some recording sessions.

Michel took to his piano, The two Pink Dots explored their devices and after a long period of examining the material and a variety of mixes, Michel produced a master which emerged on cassette. The 3 members were so pleased with the result that ‘Ripple’ became an enduring project thanks to possibilities of cyberspace, so a new recording was made, this time with only Edward and Michel.

As for the name, it’s best to go back to that bar which was a refuge for those persecuted during the brutal Pinochet years (entry was permitted with a secret knock!). Together with Chilean friends the two Pink Dots and Michel slowly sank in their chairs after a few devilish glasses of young white wine mixed with pineapple ice-cream. The name of the lethal cocktail….. ‘Little Earthquakes’ (of course).”

Somehow I (Camille, the admin) missed this gem released back in June of this year- LAURENT SAÏET & GUESTS album After The Wave. Edward Ka-Spel is on two of the tracks.  I’m posting about it now.  Sorry.  Better late than never.
