THE LEGENDARY PINK DOTS Team With Classic Rock Legends BADFINGER For A New Version Of “Midnight Caller!”

The Legendary Pink Dots founder Edward Ka-Spel is well-known as one of the most prolific artists to emerge from the ‘80s post-punk underground but in his 40+ studio albums with the Dots, Ka-Spel has never done something quite as adventurous as this new single. “Midnight Caller” is one of the highlights from Badfinger’s smash hit album from 1970 No Dice, and this year Ka-Spel was given the opportunity to refresh this classic track, bringing his own prodigious production skills and immense talent for arrangement to the late great Pete Ham’s composition. Featuring vocals and bass by longtime Badfinger bandleader Joey Molland, “Midnight Caller” becomes in the hands of Ka-Spel simultaneously more lush and more sinister offering a dark psychedelic spin that seeps its way into almost everything The Dots touch.

For the diehards, I have just uploaded two of the more interesting live performances from the extensive Pink Dotted Archives. The music has been remastered, and both include lengthy improvisations. EK

while LPDs “Live at WFMU Radio” 2010 can be found here:

For those who downloaded the solo show already, do note the cover has been updated as a peculiar error initially occurred!

3 new anthologies of The Tear Garden

It’s hard to believe The Tear Garden turned 34 this year. I reckon it’s high time for that definitive anthology, so here it is.

Part 3

The Legendary Pink Dots have turned 40!

It’s August 2020 and The Legendary Pink Dots have turned 40. It won’t take you four decades to listen through today’s Anniversary offerings, but I’d strongly suggest that you fill your freezer beforehand (if you have one).

The final 2 installments of “The Decades” collection are available, with The 80’s on display here:

and The 90’s covered right here:

Meanwhile, at https://edwardka-spel.bandcamp.com  a low profile offering entitled “The Deep” has been prepared for your delectation. You’ll find that one here:

New compilation on Bandcamp- A String of Zeroes

For your delectation, here is the second “Decades” collection from The Dots. On this occasion the focus is on the years 2000 – 2010. Eventually, we’ll get around to the 80s and the 90s. What a long strange trip it has been. Until now…..
