Mini news update

With the snow melting, the assorted diseases retreating and a faint whiff of Spring in the air, it feels like a prime moment to update about Legendary Pink activities.  Biggest news is that a new album is well underway, but we want to take at least until the end of the year to perfect it.  Over 20 songs are written so far and the amount of recorded material runs to several hours as we ponder over the way forward with several parallel projects.  It’s been a while since a dedicated European Tour so this too is being worked on and we hope to be able to announce shows for The Fall shortly.  Likewise, we do hope for Tear Garden shows – at least in North America.  More to follow about these plans later in Spring.  We also launched a reissue programme, working with several labels.  Metropolis Records plan a steady programme with the “main” Dots’ releases beginning in late Spring with “Shadow Weaver” and “Any Day Now” on vinyl and cd..both remastered and expanded. “Five Days” and “Come Out From The Shadows Volume 2” (expanded) are slated for official release through Cleopatra Records while Soleilmoon will be putting out “The Crushed Velvet Apocalypse” (expanded) as double vinyl.  It’s not everything…don’t be surprised by the odd surprises…

Post-Punk.com Best Collaboration of 2017

In this article from January 16th, I Can Spin A Rainbow made the list for best collaboration!

A long time in the making, Amanda Palmerand her musical hero and friend Edward Ka-spel of The Legendary Pink Dots  released the fantastic surreal dreamscape  I Can Spin A Rainbowwhich can be considered some of the best material from both artists illustrious and prolific careers.

We interviewed Amanda and Edward about the LP here.

The music on I Can Spin A Rainbow could be described as lullabies from another dimension—something you could imagine Jeanet and Caro including in soundscapes of the film City of Lost Children.

Speaking of film—there are two glorious videos from the LP, that we urge you to watch if you have not done so yet.
