Notes
The Archive of The Project of The Angels For The Angels. There were in fact 38 numbered angels, 3 carrying symbols and “The 41st Angel.” Each Angel featured a unique CDR, a lyric sheet relating to a song on “Angel In The Detail” (with the exception of “The 41st Angel” which had lyrics of its own), and unique handmade artwork. A selection of the artwork is downloadable with purchase.
EK created most of the artwork, but The Silverman also contributed 3 covers, Alice added another and Alena designed “The 41st Angel.”Later in the year, a DVDA featuring all the music here will be prepared for release for those who are still allergic to the concept of the download-only edition.
DVD (R) release:
The long promised DVD (Audio) version of this mammoth release, following numerous requests for a tangible representation of the project. 89 numbered copies of the DVD (R) have been created, each with a handmade cover and should be playable on any device that supports the DVD .The 4.5 hours of music is in wav format (16 bit/48khz). Although the release date is set for March 2020 (as the Dots are touring throughout February), some copies will be sent sooner as discs are being made in the next few weeks to come.
2024 4xCD-R limited release:
Released for May 2024’s Bandcamp Friday
At last “40 Angels” has the physical release it deserves with this 4 x CD-R package. Housed in gatefold card covers, numbered and signed, this replaces the ill-fated earlier DVD-A edition which came out on the eve of the pandemic (some disappeared in the mail as the post office wasn’t functioning, some caused problems with DVD players – the edition was aborted after perhaps 45 were sent out).
The new format is a 4 x CD-R set , all handmade, tastefully packaged and rather beautiful. A single copy takes quite a while to prepare so it’s necessarily limited. After the initial limited edition sold out in minutes, another 20 were made available, then finally 5 more. This edition sold out quickly.
