Since December 9th, 1990 the main way that LPD fans have kept in touch with each other is through an e-mail list called Cloud-Zero.
Cloud-Zero was started by Alan Ezust on December 9th, 1990 while at McGill University in Montréal, Quebec (Canada). The list is currently moderated by Vanessa, Nick, and Erik. Alan Ezust still performs co-administration duties but not on a full-time basis.

We are considering bringing all the historic messages from Cloud-Zero into an online forum here. The plan would be to import all the old threads from the mailing list, and let people claim their Cloud-Zero identities. It would be very similar to how we've brought forward all the hundreds of archival news releases into the site (instead of launching from a blank slate)! There's also some other community-generated content we have archived—like personal reviews of albums—that we feel would be most appropriately imported into a forum.
It's possible to migrate from our old mailing list to modern forums with a system called "phpBB3". You would still be able to have every post that happens sent to your email inbox if you want... or receive a daily digest. But with forums, there are ways to be more selective, and just get notified when someone has responded to a topic that you expressed interest in. You can also freely browse or search for selected topics.
However, we would like input from the community. If everyone likes the current Cloud-Zero, MySpace, Facebook setup, then we're happy to stay as we are. If you think it is worthwhile to make an online forum then we can do that too.
(Note: The forum would likely have areas that would be for registered users only, as well as some public discussion. Any Cloud Zero Archives from before the forum would require registration to read.)
