If Brass Wakes A Trumpet

Sometimes a Labour of love needs a lot of time. That’s certainly the case with ‘If Brass Wakes a Trumpet’. This 3 x cd project from Matt Waldron ( Nurse With Wound, irr.app.ext) was conceived in the wake of a life-threatening health emergency and I’m proud that the Pink Dots played a part in the release alongside friends and contemporaries such as Nurse With Wound, Current 93, Christoph Heemann – the list goes on…As for the presentation, prepare to scrape your jaw off the floor. 7 years in the making, but it will disappear much faster.

It’s almost numbing to think that our cassette release ,’Apparition’ is now 43 years old – but I’m delighted to say that it is now available as a dedicated CD release by the wonderful Klanggalerie label. The sonic overhaul was drastic and painstaking, and 2 extra tracks from the time are added. It’s the Pink Dots’ 45th Anniversary year – expect more dives into the archives as we celebrate this occasion. The link on the label’s website is: www.klanggalerie.com/gg516. Mayday! It seems appropriate as we’ll spend the next weeks (or months) in a state of panic as we wait for our American work permits to (hopefully) be processed. We can hurry things up but it will cost a second small fortune- it honestly is more relaxing to actually be out on the road.

Even so we are shamelessly trying to raise funds for the adventure and a Bandcamp Friday certainly helps.

A couple of interesting new CDRs are being launched today while a clean up of the stock cupboard produced a few titles that we thought were gone for years.
