From Bandcamp:
26.1.2000. We feared the worst as we crawled through the mountains to Ostrava in the far East of the Czech Republic on a freezing Wednesday Night in January 2000. Ostrava is a working town, there are coal mines; it’s a World away from Prague …..would anyone there even have heard of the Pink Dots? In fact a few hundred people showed up and ultimately it was one of the most enjoyable shows in our long history – it also probably features our longest ever rendition of “Citadel”, clocking in at over 11 minutes. Another joyous evening in the Czech Republic- a country we love dearly.
Big thank yous to Adam and Adriana who started things for the Dots in this special corner of the World. -EK

The Shock Exchange presents an encounter between two of the most interesting and unique projects of the current neo-psychedelic and electronic music panorama.

The Legendary Pink Dots need no introduction, and on Side A they once again solidify their status as musical pioneers with all new songs and swirling psychedelic arrangements led by the charismatic voice of Edward Ka-spel.

Side B is dedicated to the progressive and psychedelic electronic project kETvECTOR, born from the mind of Justin Bennett (Skinny Puppy / Bahntier) together with Stefano Rossello (Bahntier), showcasing many facets of the project; from electronic free jazz to ambient experimental and esoteric avant-garde.

The album also features paintings by Franke Nardiello (aka Groovie Mann) of My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult.

Easter 1985 and The Dots were still quite wet behind the ears when it came to live performances. This release is taken from a radio recording of the show at Alabamahalle in Munich on 6 April 1985.  It’s a spirited affair though very rough at the edges.  With the rendition of “Lovers Part 2” the technical problems rendered this delicate song unlistenable so it’s regretfully omitted.  Still, turn up the volume and enjoy this rare little slice of LPD history.

1990.  It begins with a Sunday morning session in a tiny club called Lysverket in Oslo. The audience consisted of Casper and Inga who promoted The Dots show from the night before.  The seeds of Maria were already sprouting and this session gave tantalising glimpses of the tree that was to come.
Shift the focus South….The barn at Klaverland, a tape that was always rolling. If “The Right Setting” sounds a little familiar, don’t worry about it- this unedited session is back home again. Hence, the title.

2016 Soleilmoon 2LP:
The extra sessions from the Dots’ “Maria Dimension” were previously released in 2015 as part of the “Complete Recordings” box set. This is the first time the vinyl edition is available separately. The eight tracks that make up “The Maria Sessions” were edited and sonically enhanced by Edward Ka-Spel from the original cassette recordings made at Klaverland, Netherlands, in 1990.

Summer of 1990 was glorious. The Dots entered the studio on a high as “The Crushed Velvet Apocalypse” seemed to be embraced by a broad audience. Our label “Play It Again Sam” had been generous with the budget for a new record, and there was a spirit of daring adventure firing up the band. For the first month we pretty much jammed…and Bob captured many of these sessions on a small tape recorder placed in the middle of the studio. Bob had dusted off his sitar, Niels unearthed his monstrous kettle drums, Phil surrounded himself with synths and samplers. If it hadn’t been for the mosquitos we might have played through the nights. Driving to the studio each day was a challenge in itself, as the last stretch was just dirt-track with huge potholes to navigate around. There were other obstacles too: sand drifts, Highland cattle that stubbornly blocked the path and Konik horses – partial to nibbling the plastic wing mirrors and rubber tyres on Phil’s car. But…most dangerous of all were the nature walkers – they would shake their fists and rant about it being a nature reserve, and that cars were not allowed (always choosing to ignore that one board which read “except for residents”). The albums are presented in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with tip-on printing, with lyrics, tracklist and band photo printed on the inner sleeves.

Perhaps it all began on a Sunday morning in a tiny club named Lysverket in Oslo in late 1990. The Dots wanted to give their hosts Casper and Inge a special gift after a magical show the night before so they opted for open-ended improvisation before breakfast and the long drive to somewhere in Sweden. Listen closely, themes will emerge from the exploration which ultimately would be turned into something much bigger.
The rest of Volume 2 is sourced from the same sessions that form the first instalment.Turning the tape recorder off simply was not an option.

25 years after the Dots’ classic psychedelic masterwork was recorded, this set marks the first time the entire ‘Maria Dimension’ album has been released on vinyl. In addition to the original album, remastered and presented here as a double LP in a deluxe gatefold sleeve, the box includes another gatefold double LP and an additional single LP from the same Maria sessions. Limited to 300 copies, this slipcase box edition comes with notes, rare photos, a poster and previously unreleased recordings.

The Legendary Pink Dots classic psychedelic masterwork from 1991 is released now with all the bonus tracks previously available on the extremely limited (and expensive) 5LP box set from 2015. In addition to the original album, remastered by Edward Ka-Spel, two additional CDs of material from the same recordings sessions are presented here. It’s all packed into an eight-panel digipak with a 12 page booklet with lyrics and notes about the recordings. It’s three hours of music in one package!
